Each year, members of the Travis County 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters nominate a member to enter the Princess and Queen’s Contest of the Travis County Youth Show. Allison Hodde and Meredith Masi Meredith Masi (right of picture), a seventh-grader at Kelly Lane Middle School and a five-year member of the Richland 4-H Club, was crowned princess of the 2010 Travis County Youth Show. Meredith is the daughter of Chris and Barbara Masi of Pflugerville.
Allison Hodde (left), a tenth-grader at Hendrickson High School and a nine-year member of the Richland 4-H Club was selected as a runner-up in the Queen’s Court. Allison is the daughter of Darryl and Rita Hodde also of Pflugerville.
Both girls were selected by a panel of judges based on a written application and formal interview asking about their involvement in their local 4-H Club/FFA chapter as well as district and state 4-H/FFA activities, school activities, extracurricular activities and community service.
The Princess and Queen’s Court represent the youth show in a variety of ways during the contests and at the auction. The Travis County Youth Show took place Jan. 14-23. All activities were held at the Travis County Exposition Center.
