Reverend James Clarence Neffendorf, age 87 of Seguin, died  on Jan. 31, 2010. Visitation will be held Thursday,  Feb. 4, from 4-6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary.  Funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Tres Hewell Chapel with Rev.

Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

James was born Oct. 13, 1922 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Neffendorf. He served in the Pacific with the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from Texas Lutheran College followed by graduating from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA. As a pastor he served Hondo, Floresville, Edna, Jourdanton, and San Antonio Community for many years along with radio ministry for more than 37 years.

While serving as a minister, he also managed and owned the Saddle Shop in Seguin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Lois Neffendorf; son, Dennis Neffendorf; brother-in-law, Roland Schmitt; extended family, Mitzi McDonald, Codi Downs, Peggy Catoe, Liz Campos, Olivia Villegas and Gloria Castellon and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
