The Connally Lady Cougars wrapped up the home portion of their regular season schedule last night by sending the Austin Anderson Lady Trojans home with 62-45 loss.

The Lady Cougars broke the game open in the final three minutes of the first quarter when they went on a 9-4 run to turn a 7-4 score into a 16-8 lead.

In the second quarter Connally extended their lead to 13 points thanks to the production of Brittany Roberts and Jasmine Dukes. The duo scored 13 of Connally’s 19 points which was only one point less than the entire Anderson team scored during the quarter.

Although Anderson did manger to cut the deficit to single digits a few times during the game Connally was able to withstand those runs and turned a 35-22 halftime lead into a 17-point victory.

Connally now turns their attention to the showdown on Tuesday night with district leader Pflugerville High. The contest will end the regular season for both teams and gives Connally the opportunity to avenge the loss they suffered at home against the Lady Panthers last month. Tip off is set for 7:30 at Pflugerville High School.
