On a cold blustery night with the wind blowing out of the north the Hendrickson Hawks beat the Killeen Kangaroos 6-0 on Friday.

Hawk coach Frank Hense was happy with his team’s play and ability to put together a nice game in which they worked well in all aspects of the game.

“It was good to be able to get some of the younger players into the game while resting some of our veterans,” Hense added.

The Lady Hawks took charge of the game from the opening whistle as they took the ball right down the field and pressured the visitors. With the wind at their back, the Lady Hawks wasted no time in getting on the board. Eleven minutes into the game, following a corner kick, Tyane Ramos headed in a cross from Julie Saba to put Hendrickson up 1-0.

The Hawks kept the intensity up as they continued to unleash their fire power on the Roos. Megan Baker blasted in a shot from the left side of the field off of a throw-in deep in the Killeen territory that put Hendrickson up 2-0.

The Hawks were relentless with their attack and fired at will. Ramos fed Samantha Nunez a nice pass that just missed its mark.

With six minutes left in the first half, Baker would find her mark again. Having won a penalty kick at the 30-yard line she stepped up and fired a laser that flew into the top of the net, making the score 3-0.

Baker notched a hat trick minutes later. She fired from the middle of the field as she ran in on the top of the box to score.

With minutes left in first the Hawks struck again. Baker took a nice feed from Asia Williams and struck it home for her fourth goal of the night, giving the Hawks a 5-0 advantage.

Coach Hense decided to start taking out some of his starters midway through the second half while giving game time to his younger players.

Both sides traded possession of the ball but were unable to score. The clock was winding down and at the ninth minute Emily Woffpher cranked a shot into the back of the old onion bag to cap a tremendous effort by the Hawks.

We love it that the Lady Hawks soccer team made it into the Pflag, but, the picture was Asia Williams #10 not Megan Baker #4 and in the article, the first goal was a cross by Megan Baker #4 that TyaneRamos scored on. Also, Emily’s last name is Wofford.
    Thanks.
