The Hendrickson High golf team placed second at the Monday’s Hawk Classic at Blackhawk golf course.
Despite wet conditions the Hawks stayed focused and finished the day with a team score of 341.
Grant Kuempel led the way for Hendrickson, firing a 77. Blake Kuempel shot an 82, Kendall Mire a 90 and Josh Losch a 92.
It was the second straight strong showing for Mire who had a tournament personal best at the Big Eagle Classic in Salado, shooting an 81 last week.
“The team has shown steady improvment throughout the year,” Hawk coach Scott Kuempel said. “We are on the verge of playing very well as a team. We must continue to do our mental preperations and apply it on the course. I am proud of our players and what we have accomplished this year. We are only getting started.”
