Hello, and welcome back to our weekly football contest. For the fifth consecutive year our intrepid panel will be putting on our Nostradamus hats and trying to see a few days into the future to predict who will win that weekend’s football games. Just like in years past we are offering you, our loyal readers, the chance to prove you know football better than we do. And if you do, if you can best our panel with your picks, then you will walk away with a sweet prize.
We’ve added a new face to the panel this year as the Pflag’s new publisher, Denise Twellmann, jumps on board. Last year’s champion, sports editor Chris Grant, is back as is last year’s last-place finisher writer Erric McDonald. Erric is promising great things this year, but we’ll have to wait and see on that. As we have in the past, each week we’ll bring in a guest picker to occupy the fourth spot. This week it’s Lake Travis View sports editor Max Thompson. Max hasn’t seen the Cavaliers lose in three years and we hope all this winning rubs off on us!
The contest is simple, just send us your choices for the winners of the 10 games and the total points for the 10th game in case we need a tiebreaker. Then sit back and enjoy the weekend’s action and (hopefully for you) beat us.
Send your picks to cgrant@pflugervillepflag.com or fax them to 512-251-6221. Picks are due to us by kickoff of the first high school game on Friday (that’s 7:30 p.m.).
