Led by an outstanding performance by sports editor Chris Grant, our panel opened the season strong, fending off a great showing by reader Blake Krass to claim the week one victory.

Grant finished the week a perfect 10-0 as did Krass. However’s Grant’s 66 points were just three points off the actual score of the tiebreaker game giving him honors for the week.

This week we bring in Texas Longhorn legend and former NFL player Dan Neil as our guest picker. Neil is a board member of the NFL Austin Alumni Association and will be participating in the Klays for Kids shooting event at the Capital City Trap and Skeet Club on Oct. 22. The annual event benefits CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Travis County. For more information on Klays for Kids check out their web site nflaaustin.org.

Don’t forget, you need to pick a winner for the 10th game as well as sending total points for the game which will be used as a tiebreaker, in case a tiebreaker is needed.

Send your picks to cgrant@pflugerville pflag.com or fax them to 512-251-6221. Picks are due to us by kickoff of the first high school game on Friday (that’s 7:30 p.m.).
