The City of Pflugerville Public Works and Parks and Recreation staff will participate in the “Pflugerville Pfix-Up” event on Friday, Feb. 10, at Bohls Park, 200 Immanuel Road.
City officials said the event is a new initiative in which a place in Pflugerville is selected and worked on.
“The idea with the Pfix-up is to pick an area of town that needs some sprucing up, and increase its curb appeal,” Assistant City Manager Tom Word said in a written statement. “Whether it’s a roadside in need of some extra cleanup, or a flower bed that needs extra tending, the Pfix-up will be specifically for projects to further beautify Pflugerville. This time next week when you drive down Immanuel Road and look at Bohls Park, all the underbrush and dead tree limbs along the road will be cleared away. You’ll definitely be able to see the impact.”
For the first project Friday, Parks and Recreation and Public Works employees will focus on the southwest corner of Immanuel Road, removing an overgrowth of trees, vines and invasive shrubbery.
Once a project is identified for a Pfix-Up, city crews will spend the second Friday of the month fixing up the area, with a different project slated each month.
Residents are asked to register for the City Blog and submit their ideas for consideration in the next Pflugerville Pfix-up, to take place March 9, at pflugervilletx.gov/pfixup .
